Linglongs

Linglongs Project Overview

The scheme comprises a residential development on a hillside at Linglongs within Derbyshire. Due to the hillside setting notable earthworks are required to effectively terrace the site.

Scope of Works

Initially, our scope comprised undertaking a pre-construction ground investigation. Consultancy services entailed foundation and geo-environmental assessment including waste management.

Impressed with our initial work the Client expanded our scope to include consultancy support during construction at Linglongs. This involved geotechnical validation of earthworks and classification of stockpiles for offsite waste disposal or onsite re-use. Finally, we also undertook a ground movement assessment to consider the impact of the proposed scheme on an existing water main passing through the site at depth.

Value Added

A proactive approach to the overall scheme enabled early identification of potential issues (water main) which we then assisted the Client in managing. We also provided a quick response to reactive issues (lack of earthworks control initially) and developed solutions with the Client to avoid significant rework.
